This course will fulfill the requirement for the
10-hour Occupational Safety & Health
Standards in General Industry, as determined
by the US Department of Labor. Intended as
an overview, topics covered in the course are
Occupational Safety & Health Administration’s
creation, function, and basic requirements for
safe working conditions, as applied to general
industry. Time is spent on specific topics such
as work surfaces, egress, electricity safety,
lockout-tagout, combustible materials,
personal protective equipment, and confined
space. Optional topics will be determined by
class needs.
