This course begins with a review of A.C. fundamentals (single vs. poly-phase and transformers) and then explores A.C. power measurement, transformer phasing and banking, alternators, single-phase repulsion and induction motors, and three-phase squirrel-cage, wound rotor, and synchronous motors. The principles of motor control will be covered through the study of manual and magnetic motor starters, pilot devices and the development, troubleshooting and maintenance of various controllers and control circuits including two and three wire control, reversing, reduced-voltage starters, and multi-speed controllers.
